Today was the first full days drive that we have done so far, of 175 kilometres through both built up areas and wooded hillsides, with everything from chickens to Oxon moving around in front of you whilst you are trying to coax the underpowered beast along the road. Not only are we coping with the driving problems, we have to navigate around the route using a badly prepared road book, which is sometimes best left in the foot well and to make educated guesses as too were to go next. Most of the driving is in amongst the back roads and sometimes off road and on one occasion today through water.
Not long after lunch we headed off and followed the road book and found ourselves up a no through road, but by the time we came to the end where we were confronted with a locked gate, there were 20 or so other cars all following. We then had to turn around everyone individually as there was only one spot which had enough space to turn the cars around, this took ages and the temperature was rising to somewhere in the 80’s and that’s in the shade!!!. Non the less we done it and then found our way out of the mess. Once on track again we started climbing into the foothills of the Ghats were there were a number of photo stops, at one of these I heard a rustle, which on investigation was some long tail monkeys swinging around the bushes, to see them in their natural habitat was a real joy
After a long day in the car coping with the intense heat we stopped at the overnight stop on Palolam beach to recharge our batteries for the next days onslaught Awe have been able to connect to a high speed internet connection tonight which has enabled us to put some photo’s on the blog, we hope you enjoy them.

Great photos.
Glad that you are enjoying yourselves, although it does sound as though my navigating may have been as good as whichever one of you was doing it today - blaming the map!
I've heard that one before!
I have photos of the gang of nine, in chronological order!
Tomorrow!

Hi Lads
Hope that you are driving safely and as you are clearly in a leadership role, setting the right example.
Goos to see the scenery, makes a dull Monday in Cov even duller.
all the best
Peter
